You’ve probably known about blockchain, however, do you know what exactly it is?
This year, Telangana reported the development of India’s first blockchain district in association with Tech Mahindra. However, what is this blockchain and for what reason would it be a good idea for you to mind? Besides supporting another class of digital assets called cryptocurrencies, blockchain has many noteworthy implications.
The blockchain is a computerized, decentralized ledger that keeps track of all transactions that occur over a distributed system. It always extends the list of records stored securely over various interconnected frameworks. Each block is exceptionally associated with the previous block through digital signature to make the data unmodified.
The blockchain is another method for storing data. You can consider it a mutual virtual ledger possessed by hubs on the blockchain network. Any change to that record is cryptographically checked and afterward reflected over the whole system, visible to everyone.
After the initiative of first blockchain district in India, there is another effort undertaken by India.
On Saturday 6th Sep, more than 10,000 trees were planted in the plantation campaign started by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). In this campaign, Geotagging and Blockchain technology was used to monitor the proper maintenance and growth of plants.
This whole campaign occurred on 8th September, and a massive number of people participated in it. Geo-tagging of the saplings planted on Saturday would be finished by month’s end.
Naresh Kumar, a chairman of NDMC, claimed that it is the first time when tree plantation was monitored via geo-mapping and blockchain innovation.
“The plantation of saplings is not a one-time activity. The saplings need to be monitored regularly both by the agency as well as the people living in the area so that the plants live their expected lifespan. People will be able to enter the blockchain platform only by authenticating their credentials. They can also adopt a plant and take over the responsibility of its upkeep. Anyone entering the platform can monitor the progress of the plants on a real-time basis.”
NDMC statement clarified that more than 10,000 saplings, 33,895 shrubs, 3,77,650 ground cover plants, and 23 palm trees were planted in and around 14 circles of the corporation.
Tree species like Neem, Peepal, Ashok, Jamun, Arjun, and Tamarind plants were placed along various roads as well as Central Park in Connaught Place.
As per Naresh Kumar,
“NDMC will make a unique ID for each tree over a blockchain. When data of all plants are entered as unchanging blocks of the transaction in the blockchain, this data will be utilized for regular checking of data.”
On the off chance that, this initiative will be successful, the innovation won’t just encourage the community body and the inhabitants of its zone, to keep a track on the plantation but also enable the organizations to take corrective steps.
“While geo-tagging of all plants will be finished before the end of September, the blockchain framework would take no less than 60 days.”
